Buddhist Stupa

This bronze stupa (chaitya) statue from Nepal is a symbol of the enlightened mind of the Buddha. It represents the Buddhist universe. The base is square, with a dome on top. The dome is topped with a spire ending with a point which symbolizes the highest peak of Mount Sumeru, a mythical mountain.

This stupa was cast in Nepal by Newari craftsmen using the traditional lost-wax method. It comes packaged in a blue Lokta paper gift box.
