This large Tibetan Buddhist hand bell and dorje set, used in meditation and puja, has a deeper tone than the smaller handbells. The ghanta (handbell) can either be rung or rubbed around the rim. The edge of the bell is turned in slightly, causing a slight echo which adds to the long lasting quality of the sound.
