The feminine principle has been honored in many cultures throughout antiquity, and embodied in various forms. Neolithic cultures, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians - all have their images of the divine feminine. Goddesses may be either pacific and merciful, or angry and wrathful.
