St. Francis Dancing
St. Francis was a Christian mystic and saint who founded the Franciscan order around 1208. Vows of poverty were central to his order. St. Francis helped bridge the gap between the clergy and the poor, renewed the youth of the church and helped revitalize Christianity in medieval Europe. He was a great lover of nature and one of the great Christian mystics. In 1224 during a meditation, the five wounds of Christ appeared on his body, and remained visible even to his death.
