Tingsha, Om Mani Padme Hum
These tingsha meditation bells are embossed with the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, the most popular mantra in Tibetan Buddhism. It loosely translates "Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus Blossom" and is the mantra of Avalokitesvara (Chenrezi), the Tibetan deity of compassion, who is available to all who seek him.
Tingsha (dingsha, tingshaw) are used in home altars or in the garden, for meditation, yoga, healing ritual, music, and fengshui or space clearing. Their beautifully matched harmonic tones help entrain the brain into a meditative, peaceful state. Tingsha are often rung to call attention to the present moment, fixing it in the mind and body with the sound. Therapists use tingsha, singing bowls and other bells to bring relief to the sick in hospitals and clinics.
Our tingsha are hand-cast in the traditional manner by Tibetan master craftsmen with decades of experience.
